H.R. 5566 has passed the Senate…a victory for the animals!

On Friday, November 19th, 2010, H.R. 5566, a bill which will ban animal crush videos in the United States, passed the Senate. It is now on its way to President Obama’s desk for his signature.

Please take a moment to email the President and politely urge him to sign H.R. 5566 into law, without delay!

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Congressman Elton Gallegly, who introduced this bill and never gave up on it. We would also like to thank all of the representatives who stood behind the bill. Most of all, our hearts go to all of the people, here and overseas, who have supported our efforts during this endeavor.

H.R. 5566 was on the verge of being stalled out in the Lame Duck Sessions, but because of and thanks to everyone uniting to apply pressure on the Senate, it was voted on in a very timely fashion.

Whilst this is a huge victory for animals and the United States, our global campaign is far from over. In addition to aiding authorities in the enforcement of this law in the United States, STOPCRUSH.ORG will continue networking in order to form chapters all over the world.

It is our fervent hope that everyone has a renewed faith in the understanding that caring people, when united globally, can accomplish anything for the greater good of this planet.
