We have seen the articles posted in regard to the Senate approving a bill that legalizes sodomy and bestiality in the U.S. Military, many of which, are written with a very biased, extreme “right-wing” agenda. The stories state: “The Senate on Thursday evening voted 93-7 to approve a defense authorization bill that includes a provision which not only repeals the military law on sodomy, it also repeals the military ban on sex with animals–or bestiality.”
Let us start by saying, perhaps a rule geared toward discrimination against homosexuals should not have been drafted, placing it in the same sentence with bestiality, in the first place? It is blatantly obvious that the rule was originally generated to oppress homosexuals and in regard to bestiality, there should be a federal law stating that sex with animals is illegal for ANY United States citizen to engage in, military or not, homosexual or heterosexual, in, as well as outside of the United States.
We do not care what two CONSENTING HUMAN ADULTS do behind closed doors. It isn’t anyone else’s business whether someone is homosexual or not, but their own. We will stand up for the rights of homosexuals, just as we will stand up for the rights of animals and the planet. We do not suffer from homophobia, like the extreme conservative writers of these articles, or the politicians who are using this particular “spin” in an effort to attack liberals, in general. We are most certainly against any oppressive “spin” on reality.
The issue regarding bestiality is a completely separate issue than anything related to homosexuality, of course, and any act of bestiality should be punishable by law. Unfortunately, bestiality is still legal in a good number of U.S. states. Before buying into these articles and politicians, please take a moment to ask yourself why homosexuality and bestiality were addressed in the same sentence of this rule, other than to oppress homosexuals. The statute itself, should never have been written that way. Homosexuality and bestiality are not even in the same species, let alone, the same classification.
Those who originally generated this rule, did so to reinforce an idea that homosexuals are no better than those who practice bestiality. That is absolutely ridiculous. Homosexuals aren’t criminals and they do not have any form of “disorder” which causes them to be homosexual. It is a preference, nothing more. Homosexuals are citizens who deserve equal rights, just like the rest of us and quite frankly, we could care less if they wish to join the military. There is no documented scientific information that we have ever been privy to, which shows that being a homosexual has any affect whatsoever on an ability to perform one’s career responsibilities.
Please get to the bottom of an issue before coming to a conclusion based on the cover-story and tell these extreme conservative conspiracy theorists to get up off of their BACKSIDES, stand with activists pressing for a federal law against bestiality which APPLIES TO ALL UNITED STATES CITIZENS, whether they are in the military or not, if they really wish to accomplish something positive for our country, our people and animals, who are voiceless, innocent beings, needing our protection.
May we suggest that those generating this “spin” on the issue, try to understand that it is now 2011, not 1911. Also, please seek psychological assistance for the severe homophobia. Live, let live and stand up for the defenseless…in unity…
