To anyone who consumes flesh or dairy, please do not take this as an attack and please also, read through this entire message. This post is plain and heartfelt information.
Try to understand that even if something has pretty words on the label like “humane” or “organic”, it does not mean that you are safe from the chemicals, hormones, pesticides, dioxins, bacteria, etc…nor does it mean that animals are not horrifically tortured and killed…nor does it mean that our world isn’t severely negatively affected by the purchase and consumption of said products.
There is no such thing as “humane slaughter”. There is no “humane” way to enslave any life-form. Try to imagine what it would feel like to have your throat sliced open, then hung upside-down by your feet to bleed out.
When we promote statements to the effect of, “Well, I only eat organic meat and dairy” we make others think that eating organic meat and dairy is “okay”, and not harmful. This generates “feel-good” excuses for others to continue consuming meat and dairy whilst causing devastation to our planet, killing animals, as well as creating conditions that leads to the starvation of humans.
There is only one simple fact. If the majority of humanity does not simply stop consuming flesh and dairy products, our species will not be around for much longer. Science based ecology proves this, so please do some personal research in regard to the subject for yourself. You do not have to take me at my word. I am only relaying the information that I have been studying for years from sources like the United Nations, European Union, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Environmental Protection Agency and environmental activists/scientists from around the world that I admire greatly for their passion…
What will change if 6 or 7 billion humans decide to only consume animal products that have pretty labels which read “humane” or “organic” on them? Nothing…we will still be an extinct species in a relatively short time.
This planet has no capacity for over 2 billion meat and dairy consuming human beings, nor was it ever meant to sustain over a billion cows upon it, which is what is required to feed over 6 billion meat and dairy consumers. Once we passed the 2 billion population mark, it has been all downhill for the planet.
If humanity is to survive, we will either reduce our numbers drastically(and really quickly), or we must all go vegan. Those who don’t care which happens, will be content to watch their grandchildren suffer for it. I, for one, will advocate for veganism because the Earth can indeed support 7 billion vegans, and quite frankly, I don’t want to see anything or anyone die.
Furthermore, I cry over the brutalities and atrocities inflicted upon other beings who share this planet with us. Please consider making the change for all life. Please go vegan. Save all life on our planet by making what you see as a “sacrifice” for your own posterity.
